Women are more empowered than ever today : Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel

Mr. Baghel visited RIPA in village Chirra of Rampur Vidhansabha and observed the activities there

Raipur, 22 May 2023/ Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today reached village Chirra in Rampur assembly constituency of Korba district under the state-wide Bhent-Mulakat campaign. Chief Minister visited Rural Industrial Park (RIPA) in the village and observed the activities conducted there. Praising the skills of the members of self-help groups, Mr. Baghel said that RIPA will play an important role in making the rural economy strong and self-reliant. He added that the activities conducted in RIPA have a potential to generate good profits and provide better income to the women of the village. He took a selfie with the members of the self-help group there and said that women have become more empowered and self-dependent, they are not ‘Abla’ anymore.

During his visit to RIPA, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel closely observed the activities of processing turmeric, chili, spices, gram flour, fragrant rice, pickle, badi, incense sticks, manufacturing of dona pattal, slippers, cow dung paint, ash bricks, paver block, putty , fencing etc. Meanwhile, he also interacted with the members of the self-help group and praised the activities conducted in RIPA. Mr. Baghel directed Collector Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Jha to open Gadkaleva and Coffee Point, in view of the potential for tourism here. Divyang Lalita Rathia of village Chirra informed Chief Minister about the activities conducted by various self-help groups in RIPA. She told that 15 activities are being conducted there and 64 people of the village are engaged in these activities, including 18 men. Orders have been received from Rural Engineering Department and Tribal Department for turmeric, chili spice, dona pattal, gram flour, flour, bricks. An order for 7,000 liters of cow dung paint was also received from the Rural Engineering Department. An order of two thousand slippers has also been received from the Tribal Development Department.

So far, there has been a net profit of Rs 2 lakh 15 thousand and goods worth more than Rs 6 lakhs produced under various economic activities have been sold. She informed that many departments have placed orders for the various products of RIPA. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel inaugurated the WiFi facility by pressing the button. Collector Mr. Jha informed Chief Minister Mr. Baghel about the works of Narva development, RIPA and an overview of the activities conducted there. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Assembly Speaker Dr. Charan Das Mahant, Minister in charge of School Education and District Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Revenue Minister Mr. Jai Singh Aggarwal, MP Mrs. Jyotsna Mahant, MLA Mr. Mohit Ram Kerketta, Mr. Purushottam Kanwar, Mr. Nanki Ram Kanwar, along with other public representatives were present on the occasion.

Chief Minister planted jackfruit saplings

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel planted a jackfruit sapling at Ripa Center in Chirra. Vidhansabha Speaker Dr. Charan Das Mahant planted mangoes and district in-charge minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Aggarwal and Member of Parliament Mrs. Jyotsna Charan Das Mahant planted mango saplings.
