20 Women Engaged in Sewing School Dresses
Rural Industrial Park Boosts Women’s Income
Raipur, 17 May .
The Mahatma Gandhi Rural Park in Achhota village has now taken its true form, with 20 rural women wholeheartedly engaged in sewing using sewing machines. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel congratulated the women for their work. They expressed their pride in working at a rural industrial park, which not only increased their income but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among themselves.
The President of the Ujjwal Women’s Group in Achhota village, Mrs. Jayanti Nagrachi, said that earlier they used to work on small projects but they are now sewing school dresses together. Now, their income has increased from Rs. 200 to Rs. 250 per day. Other women working in rural industrial parks also expressed their happiness and excitement. Previously, they used manual sewing machines to sew shirts and tunics after procuring fabric wholesale from a vendor. With manual sewing machines, they could only manage to sew 15-20 units per day, earning them Rs. 100-150.
Under the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park Scheme, electrical sewing machines have been installed in the garment/sewing unit of the RIPA Gauthan to boost sewing work in Gauthan. The women received 30 days of free advanced sewing training from Baroda RSETI (Rural Self-Employment Training Institutes). Now, they can sew 30-40 units of shirt tunics per day, earning Rs. 200-250. To date, the group has sewn 8800 garments and earned Rs. 48,400.
