Raipur : New arrangement in RTO: Vehicle owners will now receive information on WhatsApp as soon as their license-RC is ready

Under ‘Tunhar Sarkar Tunhar Duar’, information about the progress of the application will be made available on SMS as well as on WhatsApp

So far, more than 19 lakh smart card based registration certificates and driving licenses have been prepared and home-delivered

Raipur, 11 May . RTO has introduced a new system to enhance the transparency in services. Now the information about RC and license issuance will be sent directly to the vehicle owners on their WhatsApp. Under the new system, vehicle owners will receive the RC-license number, tracking number with the name of the applicant along with the date of RC-license issuance and dispatch through WhatsApp message.


This new facility has been added to the ‘Tunhar Sarkar Tunhar Dwar’ scheme of Transport Department as per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and under guidance of Transport Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar. From June 2021 to present, 19 lakh 28 thousand 916 smart card based registration certificates and driving licenses have been delivered to the applicants. These include 13 lakh 14 thousand 768 smart card based registration certificates and 6 lakh 14 thousand 148 driving licences.

Transport Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar is regularly monitoring the implementation of ‘Tunhar Sarkar Tunhar Duar’ scheme. This scheme of Transport Department is an important scheme, introduced for the convenience of the people. Under this scheme, 22 transport related services are being provided to the people at their doorstep, saving their time and money.

Transport Commissioner Mr. Dipanshu Kabra said that earlier, applicants were provided brief information through SMS only, and the SMS only contained the RC-license number and the tracking number. It did not even mention the name. But now the applicants will receive elaborate notification from RTO on WhatsApp as well.  Now the applicants can download RC-license online any time anywhere from the parivahan website.

If not delivered on time, one can file complaint on the helpline

If the RC is not received through speed post within a week of printing, the applicant can file complaint by calling the helpline number 7580808030 as issued by the Transport Department. All the information related to the arrival of RC-License can be obtained by calling on the toll free number from 10 am to 5:30 pm, except on the holidays. Problems and complaints will also be resolved through this toll-free number.

To improve the efficiency, transparency and accesibility ofthe transport service accessible, information about RC-license etc will now be sent to the vehicle owners through SMS as well as WhatsApp. And any query and complaint will be resolved through toll free number.
