Workers raised the slogan “Maan Badhaya Apne Apka Aabhar, Chhattisgarh Sarkar Bharose ki Sarkar” to show their gratitude
Raipur, 2 May . The Science College Ground was a joyous sight today as Anganwadi workers from all corners of the state gathered to celebrate their contributions towards improving healthcare and education in rural areas. These workers, including assistants and mitanins, expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and chanted the slogan “Maan Badhaya Apne Apka Aabhar, Chhattisgarh Sarkar Bharose ki Sarkar” to show their appreciation for the increased honorarium.
Ms. Sadhna Dewangan, an Anganwadi worker, shared that previously, workers would only receive a certificate upon retirement, but the government now provides Rs. 50,000 to the Anganwadi worker and Rs. 25,000 to the helpers. Mrs. Prabha Kuthare, an Anganwadi worker for 22 years, expressed her difficulties in making ends meet with an inadequate honorarium. She is now happy that the Chief Minister has increased their honorarium and improved their economic condition.
Mrs. Lakshmi Sahu, an Anganwadi worker from Bhatagaon, was surprised when she heard about the increment in honorarium. She couldn’t believe it was true. Meanwhile, Mitanin Mrs. Prem Jyoti Baghel from Bastar shared that she works tirelessly to support the 350 people in her village. She provides practical and emotional assistance to pregnant women and new mothers and distributes necessary medicines for common illnesses. With the increased honorarium, she will now receive a total of Rs. 7,000 per month, which she plans to spend on her children’s education.
It’s worth noting that the monthly honorarium for Anganwadi workers has been raised from Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 10,000, from Rs. 3,250 to Rs. 5,000 per month for Anganwadi helpers, and from Rs. 4,500 to Rs. 7,500 per month for mini Anganwadi workers. This increase will benefit over 46,660 workers who serve in Anganwadi centers throughout the state. The monthly honorarium for Mitanin workers, who provide healthcare services in rural areas, has also increased to Rs. 2,200 per month.
