Narayanpur: ‘Om’ suffering from Blood Cancer gets a new lease of life

Om will receive treatment under the “Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Yojana”

Narayanpur, 18 April . Everyone knows that the treatment of deadly diseases like cancer is quite expensive. Therefore, it becomes a difficult financial challenge for any middle-class family. The 8-year-old son of Ward no. 7 resident Mr. Asno Patel, Om Kumar Patel, was suffering from the fatal disease of blood cancer. Asno Kumar Patel, who hails from a lower-middle-class family, is appointed as a teacher in the local Saraswati Shishu Mandir School, whereas his wife works as a cook at the hostel of Gadhbengal village. In such a case, finding out that their child is suffering from cancer was like a nightmare to them. Low income and the modest circumstances of the family were against Asno Patel. In such a serious condition, a request had been made before the Administration for financial assistance for Om’s treatment.

At the beginning of the treatment procedure, the doctor provided an estimate of Rs. 25,00,000 (Rs. 25 lakh) for the treatment of blood cancer. While Mr. Asno Patel owns a Priority Household Ration Card, adequate expenses for the treatment of cancer weren’t possible to arrange under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Mr. Patel had presented a written application for his son’s treatment under the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana.

Thereafter, the treatment of the boy Om Patel is being conducted at the Balco Medical Center in Raipur with the help of the approved package amount under the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana. The scheme is proving to be a boon for patients suffering from serious diseases and their families, especially families that are unable to bear the expenses for the treatment of this dangerous disease. In this regard, Mr. Asno Patel and his wife expressed their gratitude to the government for their child’s treatment.
