Nation’s biggest health scheme is being undertaken in Chhattisgarh

Dishan received a new lease of life from Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana

Raipur, 7 April . The Government of Chhattisgarh is conducting the nation’s biggest health scheme for the treatment of serious diseases. So far, about 2643 patients have been provided with financial assistance for the treatment of serious diseases under the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana. Under this scheme, patients are being provided financial assistance of up to Rs. 20 lakh for their medical treatment.

The Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana provides financial assistance for treatment including complicated operations conducted either in the state or outside the state for diseases like Cancer, Thalassemia Major, Hemophilia, lungs, kidney, and liver transplant, cochlear implants, and surgeries related to the heart, brain, and the spinal cord. This scheme is being undertaken from 1 January 2020. To benefit from this scheme, one can call the toll free no. 104. They can also contact the Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer.

The birth of little Dishan had brought happiness to the home of Mr. Imran Advani, a resident of Keshkal in Kondagaon district. However, when Dishan was 4 months old, he suddenly got sick.  A medical test revealed that he was suffering from a serious hereditary disease called Thalassemia Major. Because of the shortage of blood, Dishan’s body was getting weaker and he was also facing breathing difficulties. Doctors in Bangalore suggested a bone marrow implant. When Dishan’s family came to know that the treatment would cost Rs. 40 lakh, they let go of any hope for saving Dishan’s life. In these moments of despair, the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana emerged as a ray of hope in Dishan’s life. The Health Department transferred an amount of Rs. 18 lakh to Dishan’s father’s account within 15 days of  receiving the application.

His treatment began in a private hospital in Bangalore. After a 6-month long treatment, Dishan finally managed to beat Thalassemia and he is now completely healthy. The family members of Dishan are quite happy because of his recovery. Innocent Dishan is smiling again. Dishan’s family has thanked the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel from the bottom of their hearts for the financial assistance obtained from the Government of Chhattisgarh for his treatment, and said that Dishan’s medical treatment won’t have been possible without Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana.
