Applications open for landless laborers under Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Majdoor Nyay Yojana in Nagar Panchayats
Over 300 laborer families of Bilaspur applied for availing benefits of the scheme
Bilaspur 06 April . The district administration has started the process of providing benefits of the Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Majdoor Nyay Yojana to landless laborers in Nagar Panchayats, as per the announcement made by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel. Applications under the scheme will be accepted till April 15. The process of accepting applications has already started in the Nagar Panchayat offices concerned from April 1. So far, more than 300 laborer families have submitted their applications. The scheme will benefit landless laborers residing in Bila, Kota, Bodri, and Malhar Nagar Panchayats in the district.
It is worth mentioning that in the budget this year, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel announced the extension of the Rajiv Gandhi Bhoomiheen Krishi Majdoor Nyay Yojana from rural areas to Nagar Panchayat areas as well to cover the landless workers in the urban areas. Collector Shri Saurabh Kumar reviewed the scheme in a TL meeting on Wednesday and said that every eligible family in Nagar Panchayats should be given the benefit of this scheme. The scheme should be extensively promoted with the support of public representatives and councilors. Priority should be given to slums areas, particularly.
He added that as per the directions of the state government, new applications will be accepted until April 15. These applications will be entered into the portal by April 22 and verified by the Tehsildars by April 30. After the publication of the acceptance/rejection of the applications on May 8, claims/complaints will be heard, and then the matter will be taken up for verification in the general meeting of the Nagar Panchayat. Updates will be made on the portal by May 14, and the final verified list will be published on May 15.
