Raipur: Repair work of Morga Dam at Rs. 49 lakh underway

Raipur, 4 April . The repair work of Morga Dam located in the Manendragarh-Chirimiri-Bharatpur district is speedily being done. Because of the leakage in the dam, water had been required to be emptied out of it during the last rainy season for its safety. The repair work for the leakage is being undertaken at the cost of Rs. 49 lakh. Collector Mr. P.S. Dhruv visited the Morga dam and overviewed the construction work. He gave instructions to officers to pay special attention to the quality of the construction work. This dam is quite useful for irrigation.

Construction of the irrigation canal will provide an irrigation facility on 800 acres of land. Keeping this in mind, the construction of an irrigation canal at Rs. 2.25 crores is also being undertaken. The Collector held discussions with the construction workers on this occasion and also analyzed the material used in the construction work. He also gave them instructions to mix cement and concrete in proper proportions before using it.
