CG NEWS : Skoch Award for the ‘Angana Ma Shiksha’ program

Women who teach their children are labeled “smart mothers”

Raipur, 04 April . ‘Angana Ma Shiksha’ program, which was started on the initiative of female teachers during state lockdown, has received the skoch Award, India’s highest civilian honor given by an independent organization. Several initiatives that work to improve the nation are recognized through this award.

Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam thanked the School Education Department, the women teachers and mothers involved in this project, and all those involved in getting the skoch Award for the year 2022. He has urged all women to continue paying attention to their children’s education at home during the Corona season, to send their children to school on a regular basis, and to pay attention to their academics to study at home as well.

A core team of female teachers has been formed to create and administer the program to provide ‘Angana Ma Shiksha’ to every village in Chhattisgarh, including representation from all five divisions. These teachers have been designing this program for the previous three years in order to continuously enhance it. First and foremost, ‘Angana Ma Shiksha’ fair is held in each village. Local teachers, local residents, Anganwadi workers, and girls from higher grades were included.

The fair has various counters where mothers can have their children tested and learn about the process of teaching and learning at home. Walking on zigzag lines, coloring pictures, folding paper to make different shapes, identifying objects and arranging them in sequence, telling a story, describing a picture, counting, verbal addition, and subtraction are some of the activities that are planned. Mothers begin assisting their children to study at home by learning at the fair and receiving frequent orientation from teachers. In this program, mothers who work harder and more actively are recognized by bestowing the title of ‘Smart Mata’ on them in order to gain recognition in the village and connect other mothers with this program. Smart mothers are also encouraged to mobilize other mothers and take an effort to improve their children’s education by enrolling them in school and anganwadi.

Mothers also bring a support card with them to school for the new session, on which they assess the present condition of their children’s abilities and sign to indicate that they have assisted their children in achieving these competencies. You’ve completed it; now cooperate in teaching ahead of time. The next step of this program in all villages is being decided by women teachers in collaboration with Pratham Education Foundation before admission in the upcoming session. This year, mothers are encouraged to take selfies with their children in honor of ‘Angana Ma Shiksha’ day.
