Farmers describe it as a ‘historic step’ towards increasing their income

Farmers hailing from Gariaband district express happiness over the announcement of purchasing 20 quintals of paddy per acre at support price made by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday. They described it as a ‘historic step’ and said that farmers believe that their income will increase if agriculture becomes profitable.
Gariaband farmers said that this historic decision will provide them with more opportunities to sell paddy in larger quantities, resulting in an increase in their income. Farmers Shri Bhavasingh Sahu, Shri Dhaluram, and Shri Baldau Sahu of village Teka said they practice agriculture on 6 acres of land. Earlier they used to sell 90 quintals of paddy, but now they will be able to sell 120 quintals of paddy at support price.
Mahesh Sahu, a farmer of village Borid, said that the decision has taken away his worries about selling paddy. He practices farming on 10-acre land and now he will be able to sell 200 quintals of paddy at support price. The farmers are ecstatic and feel that this decision of Chief Minister will prove to be a milestone for them. Other farmers including Ghanshyam Sahu of village Roba, Prakashchandra Sahu of Shyamnagar, Seukaram Dhruv of Kosamkutha, Chintaram Dhruv of Lachkera, Budhram Kosre of Jamagaon, Daua Tarak of Arand, Makhanlal Dhruv of Borid, and Laxmi Barle have also expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the Chief Minister for this decision.
