State’s first full-height Four lane Railway Under-bridge on Raipur-Bilaspur Highway
Full-height four lane Railway Under-bridge constructed at a cost of Rs. 28.11 crores
Urban population of 5 lakh will be benefitted

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated a full-height four-lane railway under-bridge constructed on the level-crossing in the Raipur-Vijaynagaram branch railway line, located on the Raipur-Bilaspur road on Friday. Inaugurated at the Raipur-Bilaspur Highway, this is the first full-height four-lane railway under-bridge in the state. It has been constructed at a cost of Rs. 28.11 crores by the Chhattisgarh Public Works Department.
The construction of this full-height four-lane railway under-bridge will provide the benefit of smooth traffic to about five lakh people belonging to the urban areas of the city. Because of the frequent passing of trains across the level crossing on the Raipur-Vijaynagaram railway line in the Raipur to Bilaspur road, the railway gate used to close, which caused traffic jams. Keeping in mind the interests of the public, the state government had given approval to this crucial project of under-bridge construction in 2017. The total length of this bridge including the approach road is 336.96 meters.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that the State Government has taken initiatives on all levels for the speedy completion of this project. Today, this project is being inaugurated after its completion and the long-awaited demand of people is being fulfilled. With the launch of this under-bridge, traffic will run smoothly and there will be considerable ease in transport.
The Chief Minister said that in the last four years, the State Government has made continuous efforts in easing the traffic and transportation in Chhattisgarh. During this, construction work of 9 railway over-bridges and 6 under-bridges has been completed.
The Chief Minister said that we have constructed infrastructures speedily while considering the present and future needs of the state. The coordination of our strengthened infrastructure and a strong economy will help Chhattisgarh state in creating new dimensions of development.
On the inauguration event of the railway under-bridge, Public Works Department Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, President of Chhattisgarh Housing Board, and MLA Mr. Kuldeep Juneja, Raipur Mayor Mr. Aijaz Dhebar, and other public representatives and officers were present.
