Malnutrition is being overcome with Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana support

Chief Minister’s ambitious scheme, ‘Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan,’ is being implemented in tribal-dominated Dantewada district to increase children’s and women’s nutrition levels and make them healthy. The primary goal of this scheme is to lower the rate of malnutrition and anemia in the district, as well as to incorporate locally accessible healthy, protein-rich, iron-rich food items into their daily lives. Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan benefits normal and malnourished children aged 1 to 3 years, infant mothers, children aged 3 to 6 years, and pregnant mothers through Anganwadi centers in the district. The major goal of this scheme is to raise public awareness about malnutrition and anemia in general, as well as to educate the public on how to cope with it.

On October 2, 2019, the Chief Minister launched ‘Suposhan Yojana’ to eliminate malnutrition. Every day, children and pregnant women are given free nutritious food under the program. The government provides laddoos made of eggs, jaggery, and peanuts. This scheme has proven to be successful; malnutrition rates have fallen as a result of nutritious food being delivered to children and women, and the death rate of pregnant women has decreased. Local efforts are also underway to eradicate malnutrition. Women from Anganwadi centers pay extra care to pregnant women’s nutrition, balanced diet, and cleanliness. Pregnant mothers are educated about nutritious meals, proper child care, proper nutrition, and vaccination of pregnant women and newborns while going from house to house. Since the inception of the scheme, Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana has assisted 94 thousand 828 people to overcome their nutritional deficiency while 4,412 children have been freed from malnutrition.
