North Bastar Kanker, 02 March . The Saur Sujala Yojana has been launched by the Chhattisgarh Government to boost rural development. Reaping the benefits of the scheme, hundreds of farmers are irrigating their fields by installing solar pumps. Farmers are relieved from the problem of low-voltage electricity because of these pumps that run on solar energy. Villages and fields of the district where installation of electric poles is impossible are prioritized.
A resident of Village Tumasnar in Antagarh Development Block Bujaruram said that after the installation of a solar pump in his field under the Saur Sujala Yojana, he is conducting irrigation on his field with the help of a drip, and growing crops like maize, tomatoes, green vegetables/herbs along with pulses and oilseeds, which has improved his financial condition. He said that the Saur Sujala Yojana has proved to be a boon for him. He has created an identity as a successful farmer in his field. The Saur Sujala Yojana is playing an important role in transforming the condition of the farmers in the region.
