Raipur 22 February . Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday paid tributes to the first visionary of Chhattisgarh’s state formation, late Dr. Khoobchand Baghel, on his death anniversary by offering flowers and lighting a lamp in front of his portrait, at his residence office here.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Baghel said that Dr. Khoobchand Baghel had dreamt of Chhattisgarh state first. He dedicated his entire life to the welfare of society and farmers. He played an important role in several social movements, including the education and cooperatives sectors. During the Indian independence struggle, he worked to raise national awareness in Chhattisgarh. He strongly opposed social evils and started the “Pankti Todo” movement. He spread social awareness against evils through plays like ‘Karmacharha’, ‘Janrail Singh’, and ‘Unch-Neech’. In honor of his achievements and personality, Dr. Khoobchand Baghel Swasthya Sahayata Yojana has been started in the medical field and Dr. Khoobchand Baghel Samman has been established to encourage important achievements and research in the field of agriculture.
