Raipur, 05 February . On the inauguration of Maghi Punni Mela, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel visited the Rajiv Lochan temple in Rajim and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state. The Chief Minister expressed happiness on seeing the grandeur of Sita Bari. Joining Mahanadi Maiya’s Maha arti, the Chief Minister also performed aarti according to the rituals and seeked blessings from Triveni Maiya.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel congratulated the populace on the commencement of Rajim Maghi Punni Mela and said that Rajim Maghi Punni Mela is a symbol of faith for all the people of Chhattisgarh. In this fair, along with the religious traditions of Chhattisgarh, folk culture is also visible in a large scale. On this occasion, Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Rajim MLA Mr. Amitesh Shukla, Abhanpur MLA Mr. Dhanendra Sahu, Sihawa MLA Dr. Lakshmi Dhruv, Telghani Development Board members Mr. Shailendra Sahu, Bhavsingh Sahu, Vikas Tiwari, Padma Dubey , Preeti Pandey and many dignitaries and devotees were present in large numbers.

It is noteworthy that Maghi Punni fair has commenced from today in Rajim, which is also called Prayag of Chhattisgarh. This fair is held for centuries at the holy confluence (Triveni Sangam )of Mahanadi, Pari and Sondhur rivers, which starts from Maghi Purnima and continues till Mahashivratri. On the occasion of Magha Purnima,numerous devotees took holy bath at Triveni Sangam in Rajim today. People reached from here from every corner of the state and the country to take a holy bath in the Ganga ghat.

It is notable that the Rajim Maghi Punni fair will continue from 5th February (Magh Purnima) till 18th February Mahashivratri. Here, under the cultural evening, famous artists of Chhattisgarh will present their art every day. On the first day, February 5, there will be a spectacular performance by Bhupendra Sahu Baruka and Swarna from Raipur’s rang sarovar, as well as Garima Diwakar . Padma Shri Dr. Mamta Chandrakar will perform on 6th February, Alka Parganiha from Raipur will perform on 7th February, P.C. Lal Yadav Gandai, Padmashree Usha Barle from Bhilai, Nanki Thakur will have their performances on February 9, Champa Nishad from Raipur, Himmat Sinha Churia will perform on February 10, Gorelal Burman from Raipur on February 11, Anurag Sharma of Raipur on February 12, Dushyant Harmukh from Bhilai on February 13, Dilip Shadangi from Raigarh will perform on 14,, Sunil Soni from Durg will perform on February 15, Rikhi Kshatriya from Bhilai and padamshree Domar singh Kunwar latabod will perform on February 16, , Deepak Chandrakar Arjunda to perform on February 17 and Sunil Tiwari from Raipur will perform on February 18 .
