Culture Minister inaugurated Maghi Purnima and tribal fair in Ratanpur

Food and Culture Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat  inaugurated the 7-day Maghi Purnima and Tribal Development Fair in the historic city of Ratanpur today. On this occasion, he said that “the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has taken up the task of reviving the forgotten culture and arts of Chhattisgarh. Now we all feel proud to be called Chhattisgarhi.” District President Mr. Manohar Raj presided over the function.

      Minister Shri Bhagat,as a chief guest said that our basic identity as a state sprouts from the culture,and festivals like Teej-Tihar and traditions of Chhattisgarh are the major aspects of the identity of the state. It is the collective responsibility of all of us to take these traditions forward. We do not have to forget our culture, but take it forward through various means by enthusiastically participating the cultural components of the state. The state government is making constant efforts to make our culture alive and give it dignity. He further said that earlier local artists were neglected but our state government has given a lot of importance to them. Work about Rs 12 crore have been awarded this year. Earlier, they used to only get programs worth only Rs 4-5 crore in a year.


The Food Minister said that even in the form of the rice bowl, we have been successful in maintaining our identity constantly. The Chhattisgarh government is doing the work of procuring paddy at the highest price in the country. Wherever there is talk of increasing the income of farmers in the country, the Chhattisgarh model is definitely considered everywhere. Many states are adopting Chhattisgarh’s model as well. He further said that this year, payment of about Rs 22 thousand crore has been made in the accounts of farmers in lieu of paddy purchase. The enthusiasm of the farmers  is evident in the Mela-Madai festival. Municipal President Mr. Ghanshyam Ratre and District President Mr. Manohar Singh Raj also addressed the function. On this occasion, a large number of people’s representatives and rural farmers including SDM Mr. Hariom Dwivedi, District Panchayat Vice President Suman Jaiswal, Municipal Vice President Kanhaiya Yadav were also present.
