Good News : Farmers in elephant-affected areas will be free to tend to their crops without worry

33 solar high mast lights were installed in the Surajpur district’s elephant-affected areas at the Chief Minister’s initiative.

During the Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan, the villagers of the Pratappur area made demands.

Raipur, 03 February . Farmers in the Pratappur area of the Surajpur district will be able to farm and maintain crops without fear, and they will be assisted in reaching safe areas when elephants arrive. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, spearheaded the installation of 33 solar high mast lights in elephant-affected villages in the area.

It should be mentioned that during the Chief Minister’s statewide “Bhent-Mulaqat” Abhiyan, the residents of Govindpur village in Surajpur district’s Pratappur development block urged that solar high mast lights be installed in the elephant-affected areas. The villagers stated that because of the darkness in the village when the elephant arrived, they were forced to move to other locations to seek shelter in a safe location. Solar high mast lights will assist them in moving toward a safe location.

At the villagers’ request, the Chief Minister directed officers to install solar high mast lights on the spot. Following the Chief Minister’s announcement, officials from the District Administration, Forest Department, and CREDA visited the elephant-affected areas and chose a suitable location for the solar high mast. CREDA chose the location for the installation of 33 solar high mast lights.

Besides, Villagers in elephant-affected areas are pleased with the installation of solar high mast lights. Lighting has now been installed near the village’s surrounding forests. They will be able to get advance notice of elephant arrivals using this method. Now, they will also not have to face the darkness on their way back from the fields in the evening. They will be able to care for the crop without fear, and it will be easier for them to travel to a safe location. The villagers expressed their appreciation and gratitude to the Chief Minister for his initiative in installing solar lights in elephant-affected areas.
