Chhattisgarh bags another national award: ‘Mor Mayaru Guruji’ program gets Skoch Award

Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission to be honored in New Delhi

Raipur, 23 November . Chhattisgarh has once again achieved another accomplishment at the national level as the ‘Mor Mayaru Guruji’ program run by the Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission has been selected to be awarded with the Skoch Award in New Delhi. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia have congratulated the Commission for this achievement. It is worth mentioning that this honor is given by the Skoch organization after a step-by-step evaluation which includes 7 levels, from enrollment to the final stage. Through the ‘Mor Mayaru Guruji’ programme, the commission has trained about 2 thousand teachers of the state.

The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights was declared to recieve the Skoch Award in an online program today. Many states from across the country participated as entries for this Award. Chhattisgarh State Child Rights Protection Commission Chairperson Mrs. Tejkunwar Netam, members Mrs. Pushpa Patle, Mrs. Asha Santosh Yadav, Mrs. Sangeeta Gajbhiye, Mr. Sonal Kumar Gupta, Mr. Augustine Bernard and Secretary Mr. Prateek Khare also participated in the program. All the members congratulated the Chairperson Mrs. Netam. Commenting on this,She has given the credit of the award to the hard work of the members of the commission.

The ‘Mor Mayaru Guruji’ program has trained teachers in an interesting way through sports and other activities that aim to protect child rights. This program has been designed in an innovative way and Its duration has been kept only for 2 to 3 hours, so that teachers can easily undergo training. The commission is of the view that the relationship between a teacher and a child lasts from 5 years to 12 years and is a very crucial time period in a child’s life as the personality of the teacher has a deep impact on the children. Keeping this in mind, teachers are trained in certain key points like, understanding child rights and applying them while teaching, things that have to be emphasized to create a conducive atmosphere where students can learn to their maximum potential, certain shortcomings that should be rectified by the teachers while teaching, and talking to the children. Teachers are trained in all the forementioned points through this program.
