Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai paid humble tribute to noted Bharathari folk singer of Chhattisgarh, Late Smt. Suruj Bai Khande, remembering her contributions on her death anniversary on March 10, 2026.
Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Late Suruj Bai Khande was a distinguished figure of Chhattisgarh’s rich folk culture and singing tradition. With her exceptional talent and melodious voice, she elevated the Bharathari singing tradition and helped bring Chhattisgarh’s folk heritage to national and international platforms.”
He said her dedicated efforts to preserve folk traditions and pass them on to the younger generation significantly enriched the cultural heritage of the state. Her art, commitment, and contribution to folk culture will continue to inspire generations, and the people of Chhattisgarh will always remember her with respect and honour.
