Dantewada to promote adventure tourism to attract more tourists
Hard-to-resist adventure sports activities to be offered here for adventure thrill seekers
Raipur, 20 January 2022/ In a bid to attract tourists and promote adventure tourism, the first adventure park of Bastar division is being developed on the bank of River Dankini in Dantewada district. Situated amidst luscious green surroundings and mountains, this tourist spot in Dantewada will soon become an attraction for the thrill seekers and children.
The adventure park is being developed by the district administration in collaboration with forest department using funds of District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMF). The adventure sports activities and training conducted at the adventure park will provide significant benefits to the tourists and citizens in maintaining positive physical and psychological health.
According to the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, this park, being developed under the guidance of Forest and Climate Change Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, will prove to be a milestone in the field of tourism development of Dantewada district. Various fun-filled adventurous activities including zip line, cycle zip line are being developed here for the tourists. The tourists coming here will get to enjoy thrilling adventurous activities like zip line, cycle zip line, adventure swing, Burma Bridge, and adventure sports for kids. Latest information in this regard will also be provided by sports coaches and sports scientists through the park.
Meanwhile, the tourism facilities are being expanded in popular and important tourist spots in and around Dantewada district including Dholkal and Satdhar. The 10th century old lord Ganesh idol, located atop of Dholkal hill in Dantewada, which is a world-famous tourist spot, will also get a facelift with better food and accommodation facilities. Tourists from all over the country and abroad come here for ‘darshan’. A plan is being chalked out to provide better accommodation facilities for tourists in traditional style of Bastar and Chhattisgarh and to boost local employment through Gadhkalewa–a traditional style restaurant serving ethnic food. This will not only boost tourism here, but will also help in preserving the rich culture and tradition of Chhattisgarh.
