Raipur 10 December 2025/ Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Dhamtari district has taken a major step toward strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. With the mission of promoting self-reliant youth, digital growth, and grassroots innovation, Dhamtari has collaborated with Techstars, one of the world’s leading pre-seed investors and mentorship-driven accelerators.
For years, the startup ecosystem in Dhamtari and across Chhattisgarh has struggled with limited exposure to global markets, lack of structured mentorship, and insufficient incubation opportunities. To bridge these gaps, the District Administration initiated a strategic collaboration with Techstars—aligning with the national vision of “Startup India – Standup India” and the state’s commitment to youth empowerment and innovation-led development.
The Techstars Startup Weekend Dhamtari, a three-day entrepreneurship marathon held from November 28 to 30, 2025, opened with registration, inauguration, and orientation, followed by high-energy sessions, activities, and workshops that kept participants ideating late into the night.
Day Two delivered a packed slate: practice pitch sessions, mentorship-driven workshops, and structured activities that sharpened ideas, business models, and prototypes. Teams worked through overnight sprints.
Exclusive boat ideation and networking sessions on the Gangrel Reservoir offered a memorable innovation setting, ending in a cultural showcase celebrating the region’s heritage.
On Sunday, participants received final one-on-one mentoring before presenting their startups to a panel of investors and incubators. The event closed with an authentic showcase, award presentations, and a ceremony to honour the most promising innovations.
The program was led by Mr. Ismail Akbani, CEO of AIC Mahindra and official Techstars facilitator, who acknowledged the remarkable organisation, participation, and commitment shown by Dhamtari district. He praised the event as the largest and best-managed Techstars Startup Weekend ever held in Chhattisgarh.
He was joined by Mr. Meraj Meer, Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vigsia Global & VikaasGarh, who serves as the Community Manager for Techstars.
