Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education and State Council for Vocational Training have jointly created this two-year course

On completion of this course, students will get ITI certificate along with their higher secondary certificate

Stenography course for girls and welding course for boys commenced in Patan

This course would save time and energy of students

Raipur, 17 September 2021,On the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel launched the new course that combines higher secondary curriculum with vocation education of ITI. This course has been jointly designed by Chhattisgarh Secondary Education board and State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT). Under this two-year course, students will be taught ITI course along with the 11th and 12th std education. On completion of this course, students will get ITI certificate along with their HSC certificates.

This course, which has been commenced on special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, is a major step towards transformation of school education in Chhattisgarh. Students who pursue and complete this course will get HSC certificate for higher education and ITI certificate for getting employment. Chief Minister had directed the ministers and officials of School Education and Technical Education Department earlier to introduce a course like this in the schools of Chhattisgarh.

In the program organized via video conferencing at his residence office today, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel commenced this course designed for quality vocational education along with regular education in the schools of Chhattisgarh, at Swami Atmanand School, Patan in Durg district. Higher Education and Technical Education Minister Mr. Umesh Patel also joined via video conferencing and presided over the program.

Under this course launched by Chief Minister Mr. Baghel, 80 students have been selected in Patan. This includes 40 girls selected for Stenography Hindi course and 40 boys selected for welding course.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that a major step has been taken today in the field of education. Now children can study and hone their skills simultaneously in the schools. Mr. Baghel said that now children can opt for skill development courses along with the major subjects of higher secondary classes. As of now, welding course has been started for boy students and stenography Hindi course has been started for girl students. Duration of this course will be of two years and it would be taught along with the regular curriculum of Standard 11th and 12th.

Skill development right from school-level will prepare the students in Chhattisgarh for the employment opportunities in small and big industries being established in the state. They would also be prepared for self-employment opportunities through this course. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel further said that in near future, more such vocational courses will be launched as per the requirement and more trades will be included. Students will now have more clarity and confidence about their future. The programme was presided over by Higher Education Minister Mr. Umesh Patel. Welcome address was dellivered by Krishi Upaj Mandi Durg President Mr. Ashwani Sahu.

Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Chhattisgarh State Mineral Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Girish Dewangan, School Education Department Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Higher Education and Technical Education Department Special Secretary Mr. Bhuvnesh Yadav, Secretary Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education Prof. Mr. V.K. Goyal were also present at Chief Minister’s residence. Many public representatives, including Collector Durg Mr. Sarveshwar Bhure, students selected for the course were present at Swami Atmanand English Medium School, Patan.

     Students of Swami Atmanand School, Patan, Tarendra Kumar Sahu and Pooja Devangan spoke to Chief Minister Mr. Baghel via video conferencing and thanked him on behalf of the school students for starting this course.
