Korba, August 24 . In a scathing attack on South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), former Revenue Minister Jayasingh Agarwal has written a strongly-worded letter to the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), questioning the authenticity of information provided by the company regarding rehabilitation of displaced persons from Jatraj village.

Agarwal’s letter comes in the wake of SECL’s claims of having developed necessary infrastructure and facilities for rehabilitation of displaced persons in Sarvmangala Nagar (Durpa). However, Agarwal has countered these claims, stating that the reality on the ground is vastly different.

According to Agarwal, SECL’s claims of having developed facilities such as community centers, health centers, and other necessary infrastructure are grossly exaggerated. In reality, only a damaged kutcha road and an incomplete drain have been constructed, leaving the displaced persons to fend for themselves.

Agarwal has demanded that a high-level inquiry be conducted into the matter to ascertain the truth behind SECL’s claims. He has also sought clarification from the CMD regarding the steps being taken by the company to address the grievances of displaced persons.

The former minister’s letter has sparked a controversy, with many questioning the veracity of SECL’s claims. The company’s officials have so far remained tight-lipped about the issue, fueling speculation about the actual state of affairs.

As the controversy rages on, the displaced persons of Jatraj village continue to suffer, with many struggling to make ends meet. The onus is now on SECL to come clean on the issue and take concrete steps to address the grievances of the affected people.
