Korba 21 August 2025,The event aimed to equip young minds with the necessary knowledge and tools to navigate the digital world safely. The program was led by the Cyber Security Cell, Korba, with a team of distinguished experts including Mr. Ajay Sonwani (In-charge, Cyber Cell Korba), Mr. Aditya Sharma (Assistant Manager, Equitas Small Finance), Mr. Virkeshwar Pratap Singh (Technical Expert, Cyber Cell), and Mr. Ravi Choubey (Technical Expert, Cyber Cell Korba).
The interactive session focused on crucial online safety practices. Experts warned students against clicking on unknown links and accepting video calls from unknown numbers, as these are common methods for hacking and fraud. Students were advised to be mindful of their social media usage, ensuring it serves a useful purpose. A key highlight of the program was the discussion on “digital arrest” scams, with a strong emphasis on immediately informing parents about such threats. The team clarified that no government agency, bank, or police authority will ever call to demand personal information, OTPs, or CVV numbers.

Practical advice was shared to enhance personal security, including the importance of two-step verification on WhatsApp, avoiding friend requests from strangers, and carefully checking reviews and app sizes before downloading anything from the Play Store. The session also introduced students to CEIR, a government portal for lost mobile phones, and the national cybercrime reporting helpline, 1930.
The school’s Principal Hemanto Mukherjee expressed his gratitude to the cyber security team for their efforts in empowering students to become responsible digital citizens. The initiative reflects the school’s commitment to providing a holistic education that addresses the challenges of the modern era.
