Bilaspur, July, 29. The city of Bilaspur recently hosted the prestigious National Bocce Championship under the banner of Special Olympics Bharat and Sports Authority of India.
Held from July 24 to 28, 2025, at the campus of Pt. Sundarlal Sharma Open University, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 247 athletes and coaches representing 22 states across India.

The championship featured competitions in Junior, Sub-Junior, Senior, and Unified categories for both boys and girls. This national event served as an important preparatory platform for the upcoming World Games 2027, with selected athletes progressing to future national and international championships.

The closing ceremony, held on July 28, 2025, was graced by SECL Director (Human Resources) Mr. Biranchi Das as the Special Guest.
South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) played a key role in supporting and facilitating this inclusive sporting event in Bilaspur. The ceremony saw the participation of other dignitaries including Special Olympics Bharat Chhattisgarh Area Director Dr. Pramod Tiwari and Camp-in-Charge & State Head of the Family Forum, Mrs. Kavita Pujara.
