“Even as a Householder, Shri Gopal Vyas was a Great Saint; His Passing is an Irreparable Loss”: Chief Minister
Late Shri Vyas’ Body to be Donated to AIIMS as per His Wishes
Raipur, 07 November 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today visited the residence of late former Rajya Sabha member Shri Gopal Vyas at Puraina to pay his final respects. In a heartfelt gesture, Chief Minister Shri Sai extended his condolences to the bereaved family. Notably, as per the wishes of late Shri Gopal Vyas, his mortal remains will be donated to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma, former Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, MLA Shri Vikram Usendi, and several public representatives were present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, while reflecting on Shri Vyas’ contributions, said that Shri Vyas was a revered figure in Chhattisgarh politics and served as a Rajya Sabha member representing the state from 2006 to 2012. “Even while fulfilling household duties, Shri Vyas embodied the qualities of a great saint. His simplicity and humility left a deep impression on everyone,” said the Chief Minister. “I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to work alongside him. He consistently dedicated himself to the welfare of the nation and society. His passing is an irreplaceable loss to both the state and the country.”
Recalling his time with Shri Vyas, Chief Minister shared, “I had several opportunities to attend events with him. Typically, we inaugurate programs by cutting a ribbon, but Shri Vyas would say he personally found it unappealing. He believed our role was to unite, not divide.”
In a final tribute, Chief Minister Shri Sai prayed for strength and solace for Shri Vyas’ grieving family and paid his humble respects.
