Women trained in using field test kits are educating the people on how to test water quality themselves
Raipur, 5 November 2024. At the Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Industry and Trade Complex, the venue for Rajyotsav 2024, various government departments have set up stalls. The Public Health Engineering Department is displaying its commitment to accessible clean water by featuring a live village model. In this model, every household is shown with a steady supply of tap water through the ‘Har Ghar Nal’ Yojana. This model provides visitors with a firsthand look at the department’s efforts on the ground. Women trained in using field test kits are present at the stall, educating the public on how to test water quality themselves.
The stall further raises awareness about clean drinking water by showcasing the ten types of tests that can be performed with field kits. These tests measure key parameters like turbidity, pH levels, iron, alkalinity, hardness, chloride, residual chlorine, ammonia, nitrate, and fluoride, empowering visitors with knowledge on ensuring water safety.
