Success Story : Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana helps Rubina achieve higher education

Raipur, 10 October 2024. Rubina, daughter of Zarina Begum, a construction labourer from Durg city, has completed her graduation, skill development training, and an internship at an automobile company in Rajasthan. Coming from an economically weaker family, Zarina found tremendous support through the Chhattisgarh Government’s Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana, which played a crucial role in helping her daughter achieve higher education and build a promising career.

The Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana, initiated by the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, provides financial assistance ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 12,500 to meritorious children of registered construction workers who score 75% or more in classes from 10th grade to postgraduate and professional courses. The scheme also offers Rs. 1 lakh as financial aid, along with an additional Rs. 1 lakh grant for the purchase of a two-wheeler, to children of registered construction workers who rank in the top 10 in the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education exams. For vocational courses, the program covers educational fees, hostel and mess charges, and provides Rs. 2,000 annually for stationery. Additionally, if a meritorious child is selected for studying abroad, up to Rs. 50 lakh or the actual expenses are provided as financial aid under this scheme.

When Zarina Begum approached the Shramik Sahayata Kendra to apply under the scheme for her daughter’s education, she was initially unaware of the full extent of the benefits offered. However, the financial assistance she received through the scheme helped turn her dreams for Rubina’s education into a reality, giving her daughter’s ambitions new life.

Grateful for her parents’ hard work and sacrifices, Rubina was determined to excel in her studies. After completing her graduation, she enrolled in a skill development program and secured an internship at an automobile company in Rajasthan, where her experiences profoundly impacted her. She now aspires to pursue a master’s degree and is resolutely committed to achieving her dream.
