Korba: Family Reunites with Hearing-Impaired Daughter after 1 Year at Durga Puja Pandal

Korba, October 9, 2024 – In an emotional reunion, a hearing-impaired woman, Meeli, was reunited with her family at a Durga Puja pandal in Korba’s RP Nagar area after being separated for over a year.

Meeli, a resident of Dhavaipur village under Katghora police station, had gone missing in August 2023 while out shopping for groceries. Despite months of searching, her family had lost hope.

However, during the Durga Puja celebrations, Meeli’s family member spotted her at the pandal, leading to a tearful reunion.

According to social worker Rana Mukherjee, Meeli was brought to the “Apna Ghar Seva Ashram” by a 112 emergency team about a year ago due to her ill health. She had been living there since.

On October 8, 2024, at 7:00 pm, Meeli and other ashram inmates visited the Durga Puja pandal, where she was reunited with her overjoyed family.

The family thanked Rana Mukherjee and his team, and offered prayers to Goddess Durga for bringing their daughter back to them.

This heartwarming reunion has brought joy to the community, highlighting the power of faith and the importance of never losing hope.
