Raipur, 26 September 2024/ Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma warmly welcomed over 55 citizens from Bastar, who are victims of Maoist violence, at his residence office on Thursday. These individuals had traveled to Delhi to share their grievances. Deputy Chief Minister personally met each victim, inquiring about their well-being and listening attentively to their suffering. During this occasion, he provided assistance by distributing essential items including radios, watches, plates, glasses, torches, Chhattisgarhi eatables, bags, and chocolates for children.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma stated, “Naxalites have blocked the path of development in every village of Bastar with IEDs. These IEDs do not discriminate between villagers and animals. Hundreds of people have been crippled by their blasts. Some have lost their legs, some their eyesight, and some their hands. This Maoist violence is designed to terrorize the villages. All those present here are questioning the human rights advocates who support the Naxalites: Why does no one discuss the pain of the people of Bastar? Why does no one speak about the lives of the villagers in Bastar? How long will this atrocity continue?”
He further added that, in line with the resolution of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Naxalism will be eradicated from Bastar and all of Chhattisgarh. “Those who attempt to undermine the morale of the security forces must understand that this is not just a local issue; it is a concern for the entire country. Naxalites are working to destroy the development of Bastar and disrupt the peace of its people, and it is now imperative to respond.”
During the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma encouraged the victims of the Naxal menace and assured them of his unwavering support. He concluded by stating that the people of Bastar are standing firm against Maoist terror, and the government will fight this battle alongside them with full strength.
