- Chief Minister Unveils Forest Martyrs Memorial
- Two-Minute Silence Observed in Honour of the Forest Martyrs
Raipur, 11 September 2024/ On the occasion of National Forest Martyrs Day, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to the forest martyrs by visiting Rajiv Smriti Van in Raipur today. He unveiled the ‘Forest Martyrs Memorial’ in their honour. Chief Minister Shri Sai, along with all those present, observed a two-minute silence, saluting the supreme sacrifice of the forest martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai expressed that today is a day filled with emotions as we remember the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives while protecting forests, natural resources, and wildlife. He said that the sacrifice of the forest martyrs serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and our responsibilities towards safeguarding it.
On this special occasion, Chief Minister, Forest Minister, and Revenue Minister planted saplings in memory of their fathers. It is noteworthy that the 20th National Forest Martyrs Day was observed today at Rajiv Smriti Van in Raipur in honour of the forest martyrs.
The event was graced by the presence of Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma, MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Chief of Forest Forces Shri V. Srinivas Rao, President of the All India Forest Officers Federation Shri Satish Mishra, Chairman Shri Digvijay Singh, along with dignitaries from various states and a large number of forest personnel.
