Free Kidney Transplant for Yogesh under Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayta Yojana

Singificant Improvement in Healthcare Services Under the Guidance of Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, 10th September 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is committed to enhancing healthcare services in the state. Under his guidance, the state’s healthcare facilities are steadily improving, providing the necessary medical attention to patients in need. For those suffering from serious ailments and unable to afford treatment, financial aid of up to Rs 25 lakh is being provided under Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayta Yojana. Benefiting from this scheme, Shri Yogesh Sahu, a resident of Mamta Nagar, Rajnandgaon, underwent a free kidney transplant. A year ago, a private hospital diagnosed Mr. Sahu with a kidney disorder, after which he was undergoing dialysis in Rajnandgaon. However, under Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayta Yojana, he received advanced treatment at AIIMS, where his kidney transplant was successfully conducted. The entire cost of the treatment was covered by the scheme. Mr. Yogesh, now in good health, continues to undergo weekly check-ups. He has expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for implementing this life-saving initiative.

It is noteworthy that with an aim to provide better healthcare services and relieve people from the financial burden of medical expenses, the state government has expanded the Sanjeevani Fund to include Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayta Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible families in the state can receive up to Rs 25 lakh for the treatment of designated rare diseases. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country to offer such a substantial financial package for medical treatments, ensuring improved healthcare for its citizens.
