After the vibrant celebration of ‘Hareli Tihar’, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s residence is now beautifully adorned with clay-made ‘Nandiya Baila’ and colourful toys to celebrate the ‘Teeja-Pora’ festival. Smt. Kaushalya Sai, the Chief Minister’s wife, is preparing traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes such as Thethri-Khurmi for the occasion. Ahead of the ‘Teeja-Pora’ festival, Chief Minister Shri Sai will distribute Rs. 1000 each to 70 lakh women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.
Just as ‘Hareli Tihar’, the ‘Teeja-Pora’ festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur on September 2, starting at 11 am. The residence has been decorated with artefacts resembling Chhattisgarh’s rich traditions and customs. During this celebration, ‘Nandiya-Baila’ will be worshipped, and a special Teeja festival will be held. The Chief Minister has invited sisters, transforming his residence into a maternal home for a day. Chief Minister Shri sai invited 3000 women, including beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, members of self-help groups, and Mitanins. Exhibitions and stalls will be set up to inform women about various welfare programs and schemes available for their benefit.
The Department of Culture will organise a cultural program to highlight ongoing schemes and initiatives for women’s welfare. Additionally, sports events for women will be conducted in collaboration with the Sports Department.
As part of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2024, participating women will take an oath during the event. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will also unveil posters related to nutrition and health and will flag off the ‘Suposhan Rath,’ marking its launch across the state.
