Raipur, 6 August 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his death anniversary, August 7. Remembering Tagore’s immense contributions, Shri Sai highlighted that Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Ji was a man of multifaceted talent. He authored numerous novels, essays, short stories, plays, and songs, breathing new life into Indian cultural consciousness through Bengali literature.
The Chief Minister remarked that Tagore Ji, a poet, writer, playwright, musician, painter, philosopher, and social reformer, was the first Asian to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature for his collection of poems “Gitanjali”. His lyrics, when composed with music, gave birth to a new culture known as ‘Rabindra Sangeet’. The profound influence of his writing is evident as his compositions became the national anthems of both India and Bangladesh.
Shri Sai emphasised that Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Ji’s versatile personality and achievements are unparalleled, and his life and extraordinary works continue to inspire us all.
