Health Minister attended the second roundtable conference on “Health Innovation Care in Chhattisgarh” organized at IIT Bhilai
Raipur 05 July 2024// Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal attended the second round table conference on “Health Innovation Care in Chhattisgarh” today at IIT Bhilai. The conference facilitated a constructive dialogue among officials from IIT, IIM, AIIMS, NIT, and multinational companies on enhancing medical facilities in remote areas of Chhattisgarh. Discussions centered on innovative health suggestions and technologies expected to greatly benefit the state in the near future.
Addressing the conference, Shri Jaiswal stressed the importance of good health in one’s life, stating, “Body without illness is not healthy; it is more important that a person does not fall ill.” He advocated for proactive measures, suggesting, “To achieve this, the younger generation should consider not only ‘Janam Kundli’ (birth chart) but also ‘Genetic Kundli’ (genetic horoscope) before marriage to eradicate diseases like sickle cell anemia.”
Highlighting technological advancements in Chhattisgarh’s healthcare sector, Shri Jaiswal noted, “Technology is being effectively utilized, benefiting even the remote areas.” He cited examples such as “Drone medical service from Ambikapur to Udaipur and the introduction of robotic surgery at Mekahara in Raipur” as evidence of innovative healthcare solutions.
Shri Jaiswal urged India’s leading institutions to explore new healthcare technologies, pledging full support from the state government. He disclosed ongoing efforts to expand healthcare infrastructure in remote regions, including plans for “700-bed hospitals in Raipur and Bilaspur, and super specialty hospitals in Bastar and Surguja.”
The conference was attended by Chief Minister’s Advisor Dr. Dhirendra Tiwari, IIT Bhilai Director Prof. Dr. Rajiv Prakash, AIIMS Raipur Executive Director Lieutenant General Ashok Jindal, NIT Raipur Director Prof. N.V. Ramanna Rao, officials from IIM Raipur and Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign and research scholars from IIT Bhilai.
