Divyang couple’s faces light up at Chief Minister’s Jandarshan after receiving tricycle

Raipur, 04 July 2024// One can learn from Shri Bhagwat the art of leading a simple and fulfilling life, overcoming disability without seeing it as a weakness. Shri Bhagwat, who has faced disability in both legs since birth, resides in Keshla village in the Arang development block. Upon completing his education, he began working as a call attendant in the electricity department. Due to his disability, Shri Bhagwat faced challenges in finding a suitable match for marriage. Despite these difficulties, he married Divyang Veena Nishad.

Managing the household with his earnings as a call attendant posed financial challenges, especially since he required assistance to commute to work. His desire to be self-reliant gnawed at him. Shri Bhagwat applied to various social welfare departments for a free battery-operated tricycle to ease his mobility, but received no assistance over the past two years. Learning about the Jandarshan organized by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai to address public grievances, Shri Bhagwat saw an opportunity. Aware of the Chief Minister’s compassionate reputation, he was optimistic about finding a solution at the programme.

Accompanied by his wife, Shri Bhagwat attended the Jandarshan and submitted an application to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for a battery-operated tricycle. Chief Minister empathetically considered their request and promptly directed that battery-operated tricycles be provided to both of them without delay. Following the Chief Minister’s instructions, the tricycles were quickly arranged for the Divyang couple. Overwhelmed with joy upon receiving the tricycles, they expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for his support.
