On the occasion of World Environment Day on 05 June, 2024, a Prabhat Pheri was taken out at NTPC Korba under the chairmanship of Project Head Shri Rajiv Khanna. After the Prabhat Pheri, mass tree plantation was done at Silver Jubilee Park (Krislay Kunj) by Project Head Shri Rajiv Khanna, General Manager (Operation & Maintenance) Shri Arnab Maitra, General Manager (Ash Dyke Management) Shri Manish Vasant Sathe, President of Maitri Mahila Samiti Smt. Roli Khanna and Vice President Smt. Kirti Sathe, all department heads, senior officers, union union officials, Commandant (CISF) and jawans
On the occasion of World Environment Day, painting, quiz and essay competitions were organized for NTPC and CISF employees, housewives and children under the leadership of Additional General Manager (Environment Management Group) Shri Debatosh Kar.
On this occasion, General Manager (Operation and Maintenance) Shri Arnab Maitra administered the oath of environmental protection to all the employees, CISF jawans, citizens and children. Thereafter, Project Head Shri Rajiv Khanna addressed everyone to make every possible effort to save the environment, maintain a clean and pollution free environment and restore the land. The Project Head also made everyone aware of the efforts being made by NTPC Korba for environmental protection.
Till now NTPC Korba has planted almost 29.4 lakh trees.
