Raigarh 27 June 2025.NTPC Lara family joyously celebrated the holy Rath Yatra, marking the divine journey of Lord Jagannath. The grand procession began with the ceremonial placement of the three deities on decorated chariots, which then embarked on their journey through the grand road to Shri Gundicha temple. After chera pahara (purification of chariot) by Shri Anil Kumar, Executive Director (NTPC Lara) the chariot was pulled by devotees.
The festivities included a series of sacred rituals such as Surya Puja, Rath Prathista, Pahandi Bije, Chera Panhara, and the eagerly awaited Rath Pulling. Approximately 1000 devotees, including participants from four nearby villages, joined the event. The Lara family, along with their families and friends, played an active role in organizing and participating in the celebrations.
The festival, which will continue until July 08, 2025, will feature a 12-day long series of cultural activities on the Sangam community hall premises of Maitree Nagar, maintaining the festive spirit and fostering a sense of community and cultural pride.
