NTPC Korba successfully conducted Day 1 of Medical Screening Camp for the GEM Girls

On 1 May 2024, NTPC Korba successfully conducted a medical examination screening camp for 44 participating girls from 13 schools within the project area at NTPC Korba Hospital.

Under the expert guidance of Dr Vinod Kolhatkar, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), NTPC Korba, a dedicated team of doctors conducted thorough medical check-ups for all participants. The camp’s success highlights NTPC Korba’s commitment to ensuring the holistic development and well-being of the girls in the region.

This proactive initiative aimed to prioritize the health and well-being of the participants ultimately contributing to their overall empowerment ahead of the four-week residential GEM 2024 program scheduled to commence in mid-May.

The medical examination screening camp not only addressed immediate health concerns but also laid a strong foundation for the forthcoming GEM 2024 program. NTPC Korba continues its unwavering support for initiatives that empower and uplift girls, furthering its mission of creating a brighter and more inclusive future for all.

Furthermore, during the event, a series of other activities were undertaken, including uniform, tracksuit & shoe measurements, and capturing students’ photos for GEM ID cards.

The Girl Empowerment Mission, a residential program aims to empower these girls with essential education, health awareness, and self-defence skills.
