On the 20th of February 2024, the inter-village rural cultural meet ‘Hamar Dharohar’ was organized under the ageis of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), NTPC Sipat. This unique event showcased the traditional dance forms like Karma Dance, Pandhi Dance, Chhattisgarhi Dance, Raut Dance, Jasgit, and Suva Dance traversing the rich cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh. Shri V. K. Pandey, HOP, NTPC Sipat and Mrs. Sadhna Pandey, President Sangwari Mahila Samiti graced the event with their presence.
A total number of 130 participants took to stage, mesmerizing the audience with their performances to twelve folk melodies. Shri Srijit Kumar, GM (CPG-2), Shri Anil Shankar Sharan, GM (O&M), GMs, HODs, representatives from the Union and Associations, Sarpanches as well as local media came together to encourage the participants as they immersed themselves in Chhattisgarhi culture. The event featured a spirited competition among the participating 12 teams from 8 project affected villages (PAVs). ‘Hamar Dharohar’ served not only as a platform for artistic expression for the villagers but also as a testament to the enduring spirit and identity of rural communities.
After a tough competition Team Sipat was adjudged winner and Team Raank was adjudged runner up by the esteemed jury.
This one of it’s kind initiative will further enhance the relationship between NTPC Sipat and people from nearby villages for continued cooperation towards holistic development of the community.
Through this initiative, NTPC Sipat is highlighting its commitment to foster a conducive cultural environment to strengthen the social fabric of the region, ensuring that the legacy of the region’s culture continues to thrive for generations to come.
