On 5 February 2024, NTPC Korba conducted an awareness program on BLS & First-Aid Training to benefit contractual workers. One/ Two persons from each contract attended the program. ESIC representatives in today’s program were Dr Sukeshini Jadav, IMO Gr 1, Dr Satish Thakur, IMO Gr 1, Dr Manish Mishra, IMO Gr 2 and Avinash Bawaskar, UDC.

Basic Life Support, or BLS, generally refers to the type of care that first responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway. It requires knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using automated external defibrillators (AED) and relieving airway obstructions in patients of every age.

Unforeseen mishaps are unpredictable and to cope with such cases, the program taught the contract workers how to prevent and treat common illnesses and injuries.

We know how important it is to not only get the training you need but to do so as efficiently as possible, which is why the BLS blended training also includes first-aid training and adaptive learning functionality, which allows you to receive personalized, focused knowledge to overcome the unforeseen.

Safety is a part of the core values of NTPC Limited. NTPC Korba’s objective is to provide a safe working environment and strive for zero incidents at work. We recognise all accidents are preventable therefore, safety shall be at the forefront of all our activities. Hence, NTPC Korba is taking various measures to prevent unforeseen mishaps and has implemented such training to make the workers more competent.
