SECL bids heartfelt farewell to Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharya on the occasion of his retirement
On the occasion of his retirement from Coal India/SECL on 31.01.2024, Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharya was bid a heartfelt farewell in the presence of Chairman-cum-Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, Director (Finance) Shri G. Srinivasan, Director Technical (Planning-Project/Operation) Shri S.N. Kapri, Shri Nathulal Pandey (HMS), Shri Haridwar Singh (AITUC), Shri VM Manohar (CITU), Shri AK Pandey (CMOAI) from SECL Steering Committee, Shri Devendra Kumar Nirala (CITU), Shri GS Prasad (CMOAI) from Company Welfare Board, President of Shraddha Mahila Mandal, Mrs. Poonam Mishra, and respected members Mrs. R. Raji Srinivasan, Mrs. Sangeeta Kapri, Mrs. Sujata Khamari, various heads of departments, Area General Managers, steering committee, safety committee, officials of the welfare board, SC/ST/OBC, CMOAI and various trade union representatives, officers, employees.


After welcoming in the program, Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharya expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone and said that the experience of working in Coal India has been a unforgettable one for me. During my tenure, I have always found the employees of SECL full of enthusiasm and energy and under the leadership of CMD sir, many positive changes are being seen in SECL and I am confident that in the coming days the company will scale new heights of excellence. Chairman cum Managing Director Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra said that Mr. Acharya has a very humble personality and he always served the company like a selfless Karmayogi. The biggest quality of his personality was his simplicity, due to which he faced the biggest challenges easily. There was always a softness in his behavior but whenever it came to taking any difficult decision, that too was taken by him with equal ease.


Director (Finance) Shri G. Srinivasan said that Shri Acharya was not only an efficient personnel director but also a good friend and it was always his endeavor to contribute as much as possible to the progress of the company during his tenure. Director Technical (Operation cum Planning/Project) Shri S.N. Kapri said that under the leadership of Shri Acharya, many efforts were made towards employee welfare in the company and his tenure was full of many achievements for SECL. On this occasion, labour union officials Mr. Nathulal Pandey (HMS), Mr. Haridwar Singh (AITUC), Mr. Gopal Narayan Singh (SEKMC), Mr. BM Manohar (CITU), Mr. Devendra Kumar Nirala (CITU), said in their respective addresses that Shri Acharya is a very touching personality and he always gave priority to the welfare of the employees. On this occasion, the welcome address was presented by the Head of the Department (EE/PF-Pension), Mrs. Sujata Rani, while the certificate of honor was read by the General Manager, Raigarh area, Mr. Hemant Pandey, which was presented by the Board of Directors to Mr. Debasis Acharya.

In the programme, photo albums and press clippings collected by the Public Relations Department were presented to Shri Debasis Acharya by the Functional Directors. The program was conducted by Manager (Personnel) Mr. Varun Sharma and Deputy Manager (E&M) Ms. Anuradha C, while at the end the vote of thanks to the attendees was given by Mr. Arun Srivastava, Deputy General Manager
