Bilaspur, 29 January. In a step towards Divyang welfare motorized tricycles and sugamya canes were distributed to divyangjans under CSR in an event organized by SECL at Vasant Club, Vasant Vihar on 29/01/2024. In the event, motorized tricycles and sugamya canes were given to 28 divyang people by the chief guest SECL Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharyya.
These devices have been manufactured by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALMICO), Jabalpur (MP) and the selection of beneficiaries and distribution of devices was done with the help of District Administration and Welfare Department, Bilaspur and District Rehabilitation Centre, Bilaspur.
It may be noted that under the CSR, a total of 1004 motorized tricycles and 341 accessible canes are to be distributed by SECL to the divyang people in Bilaspur, Balrampur, Raigarh, Surajpur, Korea and Surguja districts of Chhattisgarh and Anuppur, Shahdol and Umaria of Madhya Pradesh. The said scheme is being implemented by ALIMCO in collaboration with the concerned district administration and social welfare department. Under the said scheme, in the first phase, beneficiaries were selected by organizing testing camps for divyang people and in the second phase, distribution of motorized tricycles and accessible canes has been started.
In today’s event General Manager (Welfare/CSR) Sh. Ratnesh Kumar Srivastava, Chief Manager (CSR) Sh. Chandra Kumar Pathak, Chief Manager (Welfare) Smt. Rita Trivedi, Sh. Nitin Mahor Manager (Marketing) of ALIMCO, and officials of CSR and Welfare Department, SECL were also present.
