Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao on Wednesday gave a ceremonial send-off for the Swachhta Didis embarking on their journey to New Delhi as special guests for the Republic Day Parade. Offering his heartfelt best wishes to the Swachhta Didis and their families, Shri Sao commended their significant contribution to maintaining cleanliness in the state.

Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has extended a special invitation to 16 Swachhta Didis from Chhattisgarh, along with their families, to witness the grandeur of the Republic Day celebrations in the national capital. These Swachhata Didis will also meet Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri on January 25.

Urban Administration and Development Department Director Shri Kundan Kumar, SUDA CEO Shri Saumil Ranjan Choubey, and HUDCO Regional Head Dr. Vivek Gupta were also present at the Airport.

While engaging with Swacchta Didis and their families, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao stated, “This special invitation is to honour the tireless efforts of the women power dedicated to ensuring the cleanliness of our cities. With this special recognition from the Government of India, the entire state of Chhattisgarh takes pride alongside our Swachhta Didis.”

Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has invited three Swacchta Didis from Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, two each from Gandai Nagar Panchayat, Kumhari Nagar Palika, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Ambikapur and Korba Municipal Corporations and one from Khairagarh Nagar Palika, along with a family member.

Among those honoured with the invitation are Smt. Kiran Singh, Smt. Pushpa Katre, and Smt. Lakshmi Iyer of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, and Smt. Kiran Sahu and Smt. Lakshmi Jangde of Durg Municipal Corporation. The Swachhta Didis, including Sushri Shashi Sinha and Smt. Kusum Minj of Ambikapur Municipal Corporation, Smt. Geeta Tomar and Smt. Vijay Lakshmi Tiwari of Korba Municipal Corporation, and Smt. Anita Francis and Smt. Veena Tandon of Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation are eagerly heading to New Delhi for the Republic Day Parade. The group also includes Smt. Gayatri Dewangan and Smt. Rakhi Khan of Gandai Nagar Panchayat, Smt. Shobha Chakradhari and Smt. Bimla Sahu of Kumhari Nagar Palika, and Smt. Jayashree Tamrkar of Khairagarh Nagar Palika, all of whom left for New Delhi by plane today.
