Chief Minister Mr Bhupesh Baghel distributed unemployment allowance to 1 lakh 35 thousand 104 unemployed youth

Beneficiaries of the scheme have so far received unemployment allowance of Rs 182 crore 47 lakh 2 thousand 500

Mr Baghel distributed appointment letters to the candidates selected for the posts of teacher, ITI training officer and hostel superintendent

Raipur, 30 September 2023/Chief Minister Mr Bhupesh Baghel today transferred unemployment allowance of Rs 35 crore 48 lakh 7 thousand 500 directly into the bank accounts of 1 lakh 35 thousand 104 educated unemployed beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh, from the residence office in the capital Raipur. Under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, a total of Rs 182 crore 47 lakh 2 thousand 500 has been transferred in so far in six installments as unemployment allowance to the beneficiaries.

Under the Unemployment Allowance Scheme, 2 lakh 1 thousand 4 hundred 43 applications have been received since the month of April, out of which 94 percent i.e. 1 lakh 79 thousand 494 applications have been recommended for approval. Whereas the remaining 6 percent candidates were disqualified as they were absent for physical verification. Of the candidates availing unemployment allowance, 39 percent are women while 83 percent are from rural category.

Addressing the youth, Chief Minister said that the objective of this scheme is not only to provide economic support to the educated unemployed, but also to connect them with employment and self-employment. State government has made arrangements to provide skill development training to the beneficiaries of the scheme, so that they may enhance their skills and employability and take advantage of the employment and self-employment opportunities available. While addressing the youth, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that six months ago when this scheme was commenced, many people had doubts in their minds. However, the unemployment allowance scheme was successfully implemented and the unemployment allowance is directly reaching the accounts of the beneficiaries through online medium.

As per the instructions of Chief Minister Mr Bhupesh Baghel, candidates selected for unemployment allowance are being provided skill development training. Till date, 7 thousand 464 such candidates have completed the training and got employment, whereas the training of 1 thousand 7 hundred 96 candidates will be commenced soon.

On the occasion, Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 109 training officers of ITI. A total of 920 posts of ITI Training Officer were advertised, out of which appointment letters have already been issued for 82 posts. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also handed over appointment letters to 6 candidates for the post of Hostel Superintendent.

During the program, Chief Minister Shri Baghel virtually gave away the appointment letters to 2 thousand 161 candidates selected for the post of teacher and lecturer in Bastar and Surguja divisions. Of these, 2 thousand 139 are assistant teachers and 22 are lecturers.

Principal Secretary of School Education Department Mr. Alok Shukla, Director Technical Education Mr. Avnish Sharan, Director Public Instruction Mr. Sunil Jain and other departmental officers and beneficiaries of Unemployment Allowance Scheme were present in the program.
