SECL management appeals to labor union representatives not to go on proposed strike

SECL Steering Committee meeting was held in Raipur on 25/09/2023. The meeting was presided over by SECL CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra. In the meeting, from SECL Functional Directors Director Technical (Operations) Shri SK Pal, Director (Finance) Shri G. Srinivasan, Director (Project /Planning) Shri SN Kapri, Director (Personnel) Shri Debasis Acharyya and SECL Steering Committee members comprising of Shri Haridwar Singh (AITUC), Shri Majrul Haq Ansari (BMS), Shri Gopal Narayan Singh (SEKMC), Shri V. M. Manohar (CITU), Shri A.K. Pandey (CMOAI) and various heads of departments were present.


At the beginning of the meeting, Coal India Corporate song was played and silent tribute was paid to the deceased labor warriors and safety oath was taken by all the members. Thereafter minutes of Meeting of SECL’s Steering Committee held on 21st July 2023 were confirmed and ATR was discussed. In addition to this various issues relating to production & productivity, safety, CIL’s SOP of Dependent Employment and Transfer were disucussed.
In his address, CMD Dr. Mishra said that management through dialogue and sympathy is the foundation of our operations and it is also our first priority. It may be noted that SECL management is continuously making efforts for the welfare of the project affected people. In the last financial year, SECL has provided employment to a record 704 landowners, the highest in the company’s history. In this financial year also, employment approval has been given to more than 250 project affected people during the period from April to July and work is being done at a fast pace to resolve as many land acquisition cases as possible.
At the end of the meeting, Director Technical (Operations) Shri SK Pal was honored by CMD Dr. Prem Sagar Mishra, Functional Directors, and members of the Steering Committee by giving him shawl, shreefal and a memento. It may be noted that Shri Pal is retiring from the service of the company this month.
