Raipur, 16 September 2023/ The Transport Department has initiated various security measures as per the directives of the Election Commission to maintain law and order amid the preparation of the upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections 2023. The department is conducting an intensive checking campaign at 16 toll posts with seven flying squad teams.
For the upcoming election, the Transport Department has started rigorous checking of four-wheelers, goods-carrying vehicles, and individuals deemed suspicious at all checkpoints. Authorities are focusing on detecting unauthorised transportation of cash, liquor, gold, silver, and other valuables without legal documents.
Ahead of the upcoming elections, the Election Commission has issued essential directives to all departments. In response to the directives, Transport Commissioner Mr. Dipanshu Kabra has instructed the Enforcement Branch Officers to conduct rigorous vehicle checking and take stringent measures against the transportation of prohibited materials in compliance with these guidelines. The Transport Department is conducting thorough vehicle checking at 16 border checkposts with seven flying squad teams within the state to ensure continuous vigilance.
