Raipur, 27 August 2023. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to social reformer and educationist Swami Atmanand by garlanding his photograph on his death anniversary at his residential office today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Swami Atmanand started the culture of human service and education in Chhattisgarh. He described the service of humanity as the biggest religion. Chhattisgarh was his workplace. Swami Atmanand inculcated manners in children, service among youth, and spiritual satisfaction among elders in urban and tribal areas. The thoughts of Swami Vivekananda also had a deep impact on him, and he spent his whole life in the service of the destitute.
The Chief Minister said that, following in the footsteps of Swami Atmanand, the state government is making all possible efforts for education, healthcare, and employment of farmers, forest dwellers, and laborers. Special attention is being given to socio-economic development in SC-ST areas. The work done by Swami Atmanand ji in the field of human service is exemplary and inspiring. Swami Atmanand ji established a high-level education center in Narayanpur Ashram for the upliftment of the forest dwellers.
Taking inspiration from this, the state government has started Swami Atmanand English Medium School in his name, where children of every category are being provided good education facilities, including a good classroom, library, and playground.
