In the current academic session 2023-24, the state government is operating a total of 726 schools, including 377 English medium and 349 Hindi medium schools. Nearly  1.70 lakh children are enrolled in English medium, and 2.20 lakh children are studying in Hindi medium. The government’s initiative provides excellent facilities including spacious grounds, modern laboratories, libraries, and more, benefiting children in remote areas, and enabling them to attend English medium schools.

By establishing government English medium schools, Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has alleviated the financial burden on many parents, easing their worries and allowing their children to cultivate their talents. The efforts of Chief Minister have also boosted the self-confidence and self-esteem of children from economically weaker sections.

Students in English medium schools have achieved commendable results, securing places in the merit list of board examinations. These schools are well-managed with smart classrooms, beautiful buildings, modern libraries, playgrounds, and excellent laboratory facilities. As a result, government schools have gained popularity among children and parents in the state.

The management of Swami Atmanand schools has instilled enthusiasm among parents from poor and underprivileged backgrounds, as their children receive a quality education in English medium. Consequently, there is a continuous demand to establish more Atmanand schools in various regions. The Chhattisgarh government has initiated this scheme to bridge the gap between private and government schools, providing equal opportunities for children to access quality education.
