Bemetara, 22 July 2023//
The Chhattisgarh government’s ambitious scheme, Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, provides free healthcare access to people of urban areas through mobile medical units. These medical units have made health checkups and treatment of slum dwellers easier. For this, two mobile medical units have already been started in the municipalities Bemetara and Saja. Under Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme, the beneficiaries receive free medical services, including consultations with doctors, free medicines, and 41 different types of lab tests through mobile medical units.

Over 740 camps have been organized in the district thus far, treating around 73,565 patients. Among them, 20,808 patients received free lab tests, while 62,389 patients received free medicines. These MMUs are equipped with modern machines and skilled lab technicians who perform various tests like blood tests, urine tests, sputum tests, TB tests, thyroid tests, malaria tests, and typhoid tests. Now, the slum dwellers of the district receive free health check-ups, treatments, and medicines in a more efficient and effective manner. The mobile medical units, equipped with modern facilities, cater to the health needs of slum communities. MBBS doctors, along with other healthcare staff, are present at these camps. They provide essential medical services, free medicines, and conduct tests, ensuring better health outcomes for the beneficiaries.

It is worth mentioning that this scheme was started on 01 November 2020. Citizens of the district expressed heartfelt gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel for providing them with these essential healthcare services near their doorsteps.
